Koen ter Heegde
As an independent promoter, agent, and label manager, Koen has worked in European underground scenes for over two decades. In 2005, he co-founded the fiercely independent label Subroutine Records. His platform Yugofuturism focuses on connecting, exporting, and exchanging emerging acts from Central and Eastern Europe, from the Baltics to the Balkans, with like-minded artists, venues, and new audiences. He is currently a lecturer at the University of Groningen, manager of the Rotterdam post-punk sensation Tramhaus, curator at the festival Peel Slowly and See, a regular promoter at WORM Rotterdam and OCCII Amsterdam. He is also a regular speaker at European conferences on topics including DIY touring, grassroots international cooperation, and music ecosystems. In 2023, he launched the nomadic festival VIKENDICA, bringing a “convoi exceptionnel” of adventurous emerging European acts to four iconic Dutch venues in a single weekend.
