Davorka Begović

Davorka graduated in musicology from the Academy of Music at the University of Zagreb. Since 2005, she has worked in the field of culture and the arts as a selector and producer, primarily on music projects, but also in theatre, contemporary dance, multimedia, and film. From 2011 to 2018, she served as artistic director of the music programme at the Student Centre’s Culture of Change, where, in addition to the year-round programme, she initiated and artistically and production-wise led the international festival Showroom of Contemporary Sound. Alongside her work in music, she was active in the film industry for many years before dedicating herself fully to curatorial and concert promotion work. In this role, she further developed her expertise and specialised in contemporary (experimental) music and related art forms. She currently works at KONTEJNER as head of the music programme and head of the Gibanja Festival, an annual experimental sound festival.
