Balázs Weyer

Balázs is an ethnomusicologist and the director of Hangvető, a world music production company from Hungary. He curates several festivals, including Budapest Ritmo, and is the lead expert of the Creative Europe project MOST. He represents the city of Veszprém in the UNESCO Cities of Music network, is a WOMEX Samurai (2014, 2020), and a member of the World Music Charts Europe jury. He is also a producer and music consultant for film and TV soundtracks, a documentary filmmaker, a music journalist, and the chairman of Music Hungary, the national music industry association. Additionally, he advises European Capitals of Culture and UNESCO Cities of Music on cultural development projects.
