Klemen works as a director of feature films, TV series, music videos and live TV broadcasts. He has directed four series, including the internationally acclaimed Jezero, and two films, Kruha in iger and Pod gladino. He has won several awards for his work. He was president of the Slovenian Directors’ Association (2012-2016) and president of FERA – Federation of European Directors (2019-2022). Since 2017, he has been president of the Federation of Slovenian Filmmakers’ Associations and a member of the Board of Directors of AVACI (World Organisation of Audiovisual Cinematographers), WDW (World Organisation of Writers and Directors) and FERA. Since 2016, he has been a professor of television directing at AGRFT.
