Trigger Change, Regardless: Open Circle Discussion
19. 2. 2026 at 17.00
@ Vodnikova domačija
A collective exploration of the potential of the music community and commoning in bringing about positive change. As sound artists, our main role is to listen and recognise voices that have been silenced. Join us to discuss what more people should hear and what still needs to change, both in the music scene and society in general.
The discussion is initiated and curated by Mary C, co-founder and curator of Synth Library Prague, and features Ida Hiršenfelder, Sara Pinheiro, Bojana Salič Podežva, Urška Preis and Klara Wodenh. More TBA.
This discussion continues the ongoing efforts on which Synth Library Prague was built and which have inspired Trigger (a mutual learning and exchange project created by women for women), as well as the discussions led as part of the Feminist Train Tour by Mary C and sound artist and activist AGF.
Synth Library Prague: Open Sound Playground
19. 2. 2026 at 13.00
20. 2. 2026 at 13.00 and 17.00
@ Vodnikova domačija
This is not a recording studio – no red lights, no heavy doors, no gatekeepers – just an open room, full of different instruments inviting anyone to express themselves through sound.
Join us for a sound exploration on a playground full of instruments prepared by Synth Library Prague. Try out various setups designed for adventures in sound design and music composition, from modular synths and drum machines to vocal processors and tablets. Explore the instruments on your own or share and play with others out loud (see workshop hours above). Each session begins with a short introduction by Mary C, and we’ll be happy to show you how to get started with each instrument. No special skills are needed – everyone is welcome! You’re also welcome to bring your own instrument(s).
MEET THE ARTISTS
Sara Pinheiro is a sound-maker. For film and video-art, she does sound recording, editing, foley, and mixing. In her solo practice, she makes acousmatic pieces, usually for multichannel performances, radio broadcasts, and installations. Her work crosses practices of sound design for film with concrete and acousmatic music. It blends natural and artificial soundscapes via field recordings, foley practices, and signal processing. She is a member of the live coding group K-o-l-e-k-t-i-v and the noise trio SHLUK. She is also a regular collaborator of Synth Library Prague and Arteacta. She has run workshops, soundwalks and listening sessions since 2012.
Marie Ctverackova aka Mary C is a curator, sound artist, DJ, organiser, and co-founder of the Synth Library Prague community space for sharing, learning and unlearning, discussions, and experiments, not only in the field of electronic music and sound in general. Her projects explore the revolutionary potential of music and music communities, the ways we can navigate and overcome inequalities and stereotypes, and the role of access as well as broader social and economic contexts and their impact on the arts.
Synth Library Prague is a place for sharing, creating, discussing, experimenting, learning, and unlearning, not only in the field of sound and electronic music. It is a space filled with amazing instruments, books, and other resources. The space is run by artists and curators, who are committed to creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone to learn, share, and collaborate as equals, and to trigger change with respect, care, and thoughtfulness. It is a place to start and sustain, to build new relationships with sound, instruments, yourself, and others. A space to reflect on reassembling as a community and explore ways we can trigger change together, as well as a space to learn new technologies and the basics of sound and music-making.
