A singular drummer, percussionist, and composer with an inventive approach to the science of rhythm, Valentina Magaletti’s creative strategy is rooted in deep listening and constant experimentation with new materials and sounds. Her versatile technique—incorporating everything from vibes and marimba to contact microphones and found objects—results in a style that is in perpetual evolution. She is a member of several projects, such as Moin, and has performed and co-written with artists such as Nicolas Jaar, Jandek, Thurston Moore, Bat for Lashes, and many others.
