“Raucous jangly melodies perfect for a basement bar moshpit.”
DIY Magazine

Cambridge-born, London-based band Ugly have been using downtime to craft a sound true to their own. They are a musical sponge, soaking up everything from The Everly Brothers to 1960s and 1970s staples, from experimental post-rock to Buddhist chants, from Tom Verlaine to Tintin. Their take on the writing process is unique and constantly moving forward with an eye towards the horizon. The group have become renowned amongst peers for their shapeshifting sound that blends experimental post-rock with swelling choral textures. All of which is to say: don’t try to pigeonhole them!
