Timothée Quost
“To play the trumpet, you have to blow into it. Don’t act too clever after reading this sentence, at least not before you’ve seen how Timothée Quost does it.”
Festival Meteo
Timothée Quost developed a very personal setup based on the use of ultra-sensitive microphones and high-definition speakers. His trumpet becomes a new tool, generating an in-depth exploration of sound texture, relying on a wide range of breaths, buccal percussion, and a fine, controlled use of feedback. Building on his jazz training and expertise in free improvisation, alongside a deep interest in contemporary music and composition, he creates works that draw from an ever-expanding range of influences. As a composer, he consistently brings together instrumentalists from diverse backgrounds, striving to integrate improvisation into precise and refined compositions. His approach seeks to unify aesthetics, genres, and practices into a single expressive line.
