Sinem

The band Sinem, which consists of Sinem (vocals), Tagar (guitar) and Tom Wu (drums, loops and production), combines Turkish vocals with 80s new wave nostalgia. Arabesque rhythms meet minimalist synth basslines, electronic textures and raw guitar tones. Musically, boundaries are broken down and spaces are opened for maximum freedom of movement, both on and in front of the stage. Sinem, the singer, reinterprets classic Turkish pop songs and creates her own tunes. She relates to the experiences of the ‘Gurbetçiler’ generation and brings them to life in their songs. “Ya-veya yok oldu!”
