Hailing from Ramallah, Al Nather has been making waves in the Arab hip-hop scene as a producer, DJ, and rapper. Raised in Jerusalem, songwriter and rapper Shabjdeed gained recognition across the Middle East for his masterful delivery and inventive use of the Arabic language. The duo, whose debut Sindibad el Ward (2019) left a significant mark worldwide, are regarded as leading exponents of the new wave of Palestinian rap. In 2024, they returned with their sophomore album SULTAN, embarking on a new trajectory and exploring uncharted musical territory. Shabjdeed’s lyrics reflect on everyday life, the reclamation of the present, and the feat of simply existing as a Palestinian and as an Arab, all backed by Al Nather’s impactful production.
