“They built their sonic foundation on heavy bass riffs, over which the musicians layer synth and guitar noise. Their expansive sound is the result of free-form structures and experimentation, allowing them to conjure a distinctive kind of music.”
Gregor Žibert, Radio Študent, 2024
The Ljubljana-via-Novo Mesto outfit, founded in 2023, won every trophy from Šiška to Skopje last year, leaving a strong mark with their confrontational performances. In their expression, the band dribbles across a wide area between post-punk and noise, reflecting the realities of the environment in which they are forced to exist. Though they’ve been labeled as the Gen Z version of the cult band Otroci socializma, they remain quite idiosyncratic – it’s all about sincere personal expression, tinged with social critique. Their fatalistic, at times unsettling lyrics are accompanied by bursts of guitar noise, sharp synths, and dystopian drumming.
