The contemporary folk sextet originally met while performing in various outfits on Dublin’s indie scene. Their shared love of the Irish traditional canon quickly led them to form a bond through impromptu sessions at local pubs. Drawing inspiration from Ireland’s growing experimental folk scene, they began focusing on original writing and composition, incorporating electronic equipment and, soon after, a harmonium. Their songs, while modern thematically, are written with a voice that could have emerged at any point throughout the past century, and sit proudly alongside a thoughtfully curated collection of folk standards.
