Colombia-born, Spain-based musician, writer and artist Julián Mayorga is one of the wildest musicians in the new Latin American tropical music scene. A mad scientist of tropicalia, language and sound, his expression oscillates between cumbia, avant-garde, and popular music in an open style in which genres collide gracefully, without losing their tropical spirit. His music goes against the grain with an organic and natural feel, and his lyrics tell stories of ghost towns in the Andean mountains, revealing a mystical side of Tolima.
