Polish-Hungarian flutist and saxophonist Juli Deák blends classical, contemporary, and jazz music through lyrical lines, extended techniques, and folk influences. She collaborates widely with various artists and explores breath-focused performance in her solo endeavour The Breathing Project, which immerses listeners in intimate, flute-based soundscapes composed of circular breathing, breath noise, rhythmic key clicks, and delicate tones. Pushing physical boundaries, she also incorporates singing into her playing, offering an intuitive form of expression that further enhances the emotional depth of her music.
