An experimental voice artist, performer, dancer, choreographer, and voice teacher, Irena Z. Tomažin places the voice at the core of her practice. Active across the European improvised music scene, she collaborates with some of the world’s leading sound improvisers. Her work is intensely physical, intertwining voice with body, gesture, dance, and space, while remaining finely attuned to vocal texture and sonic detail. Her latest album, Another Crying Game (Kamizdat, 2025), moves into avant-garde schlager and experimental folk, marking her most lyrical and accessible release to date.
