Polish musical prodigy Hania Derej is a pianist and conductor whose music moves fluidly between jazz, chamber and electronic music, and illustrative textures, all imbued with a lyrical, curious touch. Currently studying jazz composition in Amsterdam and symphonic conducting in Kraków, she has written over 130 works and led ensembles ranging from quintets to full orchestras. Her ninth album, OVER THE WORLD WE KNOW, released in May, marks a new chapter – electronic elements and synth textures expand her sound into cosmic realms while preserving rich improvisation and cinematic harmonies, underlining her stylistic openness.
