Grunt represents a meeting point of primeval ethnic sounds, psychedelia, contemporary rock, as well as the legacy classical and improvised music. In each song, the band attentively pursues its message through melody and rhythm. From the traditions of the Black Sea to Sephardic music, through devotional Bosnian sevdah and Kurdish wedding songs, from Anatolian homesickness to Macedonian sunbeams, their expression is characterised by complex metres, centuries-old melodies, and spellbinding vocals.
