Producer and drummer Jake Berger’s DUF project is a means of exorcising various demons through abrasive ritual sounds. The artist lays his cards on slowly rolling kick drums, piercing noises, saturated frequencies and abstract sonorities. His dark and rowdy bass-centric, beat-based electronic music exists at the intersection of industrial, trip hop, dub and techno. Berger uses modular synths to create anxiety-inducing atmospheres that reflect the collective unease of the moment.
