A vibrant ethno ensemble from Zagreb, Balkalar is founded on the pillars of freedom, love and celebration. Their music reinvigorates traditional Balkan tradition with energetic arrangements and a desire to dance. The musicians started with countless street performances in their hometown and matured into a harmonious formation of double bass, violin, guitar and percussion. In February 2024, the quintet released its debut self-titled album on the Croatian label Jeboton.
